Hi, everybody,

I want to buy a new solid state disk, but have a question.

Do you recommend OCZ vertex solid state disk or Intel X25-M 80GB SSD disk,

Please give some advise.

Hi there,

If you are thinking about purchasing a SSD drive and the price isn't an issue, I recommend Intel. you can find a 80gb for $550+ Intel claims that these drives have 250 MB/s read 70 MB/s write which is very good.

For the same price range you can get a 120gb OCZ which has a 200MB/s read and 160MB/s write.

At this time there is no fast answer to your question, but I hear Intel has an algorithm that extends the lifetime of the drive, it does it by making sure each block gets used equally and in the near future they will have smart ssd drives which will tell the user when the drive needs replacing so you wont loose your data if the drive fails.
